Job Summary:
The Logistics Manager will oversee and manage the entire logistics and supply chain operations for the company. This includes planning, implementing, and monitoring the movement and storage of goods, ensuring timely and cost-effective distribution while maintaining high standards of efficiency and quality. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing teams, improving logistics processes, and ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Logistics Planning & Coordination:
- Develop and implement logistics strategies and policies for effective transportation and delivery of goods.
- Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and carriers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and products.
- Manage warehouse operations, ensuring proper inventory levels, efficient stock rotation, and timely shipments.
2. Supply Chain Management:
- Monitor and manage the movement of goods along the supply chain, from suppliers to end customers.
- Oversee inventory control, ensuring that goods are stored, maintained, and transported efficiently.
- Work with procurement teams to ensure that product demands are met, and inventory levels are optimized.
3. Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the logistics budget, ensuring that costs are kept under control.
- Identify opportunities for cost-saving in transportation, warehousing, and delivery operations.
- Analyse financial data and report on the effectiveness of logistics operations.
4. Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and manage a team of logistics staff, including drivers, warehouse personnel, and support staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations, training, and development of team members.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment, ensuring high levels of employee engagement and performance.
5. Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure that all logistics operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Ensure the safe and legal handling, storage, and transportation of goods.
- Monitor safety procedures and promote best practices within the team.
6. Technology & Systems Management:
- Implement and oversee the use of logistics software and tracking systems to improve efficiency and visibility of the logistics operations.
- Stay updated on the latest logistics technologies, tools, and trends to improve operations.
- Work closely with IT teams to ensure smooth integration of logistics software with other company systems.
7. Problem-Solving & Issue Resolution:
- Address any supply chain disruptions, delays, or issues and find quick resolutions.
- Investigate and resolve any complaints related to logistics, shipments, or inventory management.
8. Customer Service & Reporting:
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, customers, and internal departments.
- Provide timely reports on logistics performance, including delivery times, inventory levels, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Resolve any logistics-related issues or inquiries from customers and internal teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Min 8 years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or transportation preferable from a FMCG.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Proficient in logistics software and tools (e.g., WMS, TMS, ERP systems).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain regulations and safety standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- Certification in logistics (e.g., CLTD, CSCP).
- Experience with international logistics and shipping.
