Vice President - Imports

We are seeking a seasoned and highly experienced professional to join our team, responsible for global procurement of all kinds of lead-based scrap (including lead battery scrap, soft lead, and other related raw materials). The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of international scrap markets, well-established relationships with suppliers, and a proven track record in strategic sourcing and negotiation. The role is based in Delhi with extensive international travel involved.

Key Responsibilities:

- Strategic Sourcing: Identify and onboard reliable global suppliers for lead battery scrap, soft lead, remelted lead, and all other relevant materials.

- Import Management: Oversee end-to-end import operations including contracting, documentation, customs clearance, compliance, and logistics.

- Market Intelligence: Continuously track global scrap markets, price movements, regulatory developments, and competition landscape.

- Supplier Development: Build long-term relationships with international scrap yards, aggregators, and trading houses across Asia, Europe, Middle East, and Africa.

- Negotiation & Contracting: Negotiate favourable terms with suppliers while ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely deliveries.

- Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with operations, finance, and logistics teams to ensure smooth procurement and inward movement of scrap.

- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure adherence to all international and domestic trade norms, including hazardous goods regulations and import licenses.

- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a small team of import executives or assistants, where applicable.

Candidate Profile:

- Minimum 17-20 years of experience in international procurement, preferably in lead/metal scrap imports.

- Must have extensive travel history and strong global supplier network.

- Deep domain expertise in lead battery scrap, soft lead, and related commodities.

- Strong understanding of global trade regulations, import documentation, and logistics.

- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

- Willingness to travel internationally frequently.
