
Job Title: Vice President Global Payroll

Position Overview:
The Vice President Global Payroll will lead the end-to-end payroll strategy, operations, and governance for all geographies supported by the Global Financial Captive Centre. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance, driving process excellence, and implementing technology-led solutions to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services to a multi-country employee base. The incumbent will collaborate closely with HR, Finance, Compliance, and regional business leaders to optimise payroll efficiency, cost, and risk controls.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Define and execute the global payroll strategy, aligning with organisational objectives and compliance requirements across all operating geographies.
- Lead payroll transformation initiatives, including process re-engineering, automation, and vendor optimisation.
- Build and maintain governance frameworks for payroll accuracy, timeliness, and statutory compliance.
Operational Excellence:
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for multiple countries, ensuring adherence to local laws, tax regulations, and corporate policies.
- Manage relationships with global payroll vendors and ensure adherence to SLAs and KPIs.
- Lead payroll reconciliations and coordinate with finance for funding, accounting, and reporting.
- Ensure accurate payroll inputs, including benefits, variable pay, tax deductions, and statutory contributions.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Monitor global payroll compliance with local labour laws, data privacy requirements (GDPR, etc.), and corporate audit standards.
- Partner with internal and external auditors to address payroll-related audits and risk assessments.
- Implement robust internal controls to mitigate payroll errors, fraud, and data breaches.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing payroll team across geographies.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational discipline.
Technology & Automation:
- Oversee payroll technology platforms (Workday, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and ensure seamless integration with HRIS and finance systems.
- Drive adoption of self-service tools and digital solutions for payroll queries and payslip distribution.
Key Requirements:
Education: Bachelors degree in Commerce, Finance, HR, or related field. MBA/Chartered Accountant preferred.
Experience:
- 15+ years of progressive payroll experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in a global/multi-country payroll environment.
- Experience working in a Global Capability Centre (GCC) or shared services environment in the financial services sector strongly preferred.
- Proven expertise in managing payroll for large employee bases (10,000+ employees) across multiple jurisdictions.

- Deep understanding of global payroll legislation, tax compliance, and statutory benefits.

- Expertise in payroll technologies and HRIS platforms.
