We're looking for a Vice President of Engineering to guide us through a pivotal phase of scaling and transformation and to help architect a future where AI and innovation become core levers of value creation.
The core responsibilities for the job include the following:
Strategic Leadership:
- Translate the CEO's vision and business strategy into engineering outcomes.
- Own the technology roadmap with a view toward innovation, scalability, and long-term impact.
- Drive a future-ready mindset by embedding AI-readiness into architecture, infrastructure, and team skills.
- Champion a culture of engineering excellence, balancing speed and quality, with clarity around technical debt and ROI.
AI and Innovation Enablement:
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI/ML across the product and services spectrumfrom workflow automation to content enrichment and decision intelligence.
- Evaluate build-vs-buy decisions related to AI capabilities and infrastructure.
- Partner with the CTO and Product teams to ensure responsible, scalable, and measurable AI adoption.
Delivery and Operational Excellence:
- Ensure reliable, timely, and high-quality delivery of engineering projects.
- Lead the adoption of DevOps, CI/CD, and quality automation best practices to improve release velocity and reduce downtime.
- Measure what matters: implement and track engineering KPIs aligned with business OKRs.
Talent Development and Org Design:
- Build and grow a high-performance, psychologically safe engineering organization.
- Mentor engineering managers, support their career development, and ensure healthy succession pipelines.
- Develop scalable systems for hiring, onboarding, promotions, knowledge sharing, and performance management.
Stakeholder and Financial Accountability:
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Customer Success, and Business teams to align priorities and dependencies.
- Own engineering budgets, vendor decisions, and optimize cost-performance ratios across cloud infrastructure and toolsets.
- Regularly report to the leadership team and board on engineering health, strategy progress, and resourcing needs.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in engineering roles, including 4+ years in engineering leadership positions.
- Proven track record in leading cross-functional agile teams, delivering B2B SaaS products.
- Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, modern development ecosystems, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Demonstrated success in evaluating, implementing, or integrating AI/ML capabilities in product or service environments.
- Strong grasp of product thinking, with the ability to co-own outcomes with Product Management.
- Hands-on experience in both front-end and back-end systems (Node.js, Python, XML, etc.) preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to hire, grow, and retain engineering talent in a scaling organization
