
Role Purpose & Objective:
- Provide legal support and advisory services on employment and labor law matters.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and assist in risk mitigation for employee-related legal issues.
- Support HR, Vigilance, and other stakeholders in managing disciplinary, POSH, and labor-related cases effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in handling disciplinary action cases across all regions, including vetting/reviewing Letters Calling for Explanation, charge sheets, enquiry reports, and final orders in a timely manner.
- Support stakeholders in POSH policy matters, including drafting/reviewing POSH orders and preparing minutes of meetings within stipulated timelines.
- Advise relevant stakeholders (HR, Vigilance, etc.) on queries related to employment law and disciplinary matters.
- Assist in managing cases under labor law and employment law against the Bank by researching and advising on case attributes.
- Provide legal guidance and ensure compliance with applicable labor laws, including CLRA, gratuity, ESI, PF, bonus, and other statutory requirements.
- Vet policies and other employee-related legal documents forwarded by HR or other departments/stakeholders.
- Assist the legal team in appearing/presenting before labor courts, tribunals, and other forums for cases filed against the Bank in relation to employee disputes or labor-related matters.
Experience Required:
- Minimum 2 years PQE (Post Qualification Experience), preferably at a law firm or in the legal/HR department of a banking company, NBFC, or financial institution
Qualification:
- Graduate in Law (LLB) from a recognized university
- Additional specialization or certification in employment law or labor law is a plus
