About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Billing Manager with 10-15 years of relevant experience in the construction industry, specifically in premium residential projects. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end billing activities including client billing, contractor billing, BOQ verification, and rate analysis, while ensuring alignment with project budgets and contractual conditions.
Key Responsibilities (KRA)
- Prepare, review, and validate contractor and client bills as per project progress and contract terms
- Conduct rate analysis, prepare Bar Bending Schedules (BBS), and validate quantity measurements
- Guide and mentor the site team regarding contract clauses, conditions, and billing processes
- Handle Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes, price negotiation, and comparison of vendor quotes
- Evaluate contractors' capabilities, conduct technical and commercial assessments, and recommend awarding of contracts
- Track and verify variations and additional scope items; initiate necessary documentation for claims
- Coordinate with project, planning, and procurement teams to ensure proper documentation and timely billing
- Monitor and maintain the project budget tracker and ensure alignment of billing with project cost forecasts
- Ensure compliance with all legal and statutory requirements related to billing and payments
- Regularly update and maintain the vendor/contractor database for future reference and audits
Required Skill Sets
- Strong understanding of rate analysis, BOQ, and BBS
- Proficient in client billing, contractor billing, and subcontractor billing procedures
- Deep knowledge of contract management, tendering, and negotiation practices
- Ability to evaluate contract terms, conditions, and claims with a solution-oriented approach
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Projects, AutoCAD (for reading drawings), and billing software (e.g., ERP, SAP preferred)
- Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills
- Strong attention to detail, with an analytical and structured approach to problem-solving
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders including clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- MBA is preferred.
- 10-15 years of experience in billing and contracts within the premium residential real estate or construction industry
