Key Responsibilities:

- Planning and management of defence projects and similar projects involving design, development, manufacturing, inspection, testing, and supply of equipment and systems.

- Drive the project, interfacing with design, production, procurement, and quality assurance departments for smooth progress of the project and meeting the project timelines.

- Lead and interface with sub-vendors and external design agencies for subcontracting work related to design, manufacturing, and inspection as required for the project. Participate and, in some cases, lead the negotiations with vendors.

- Lead/interface with the QA division for inspection-related activities and ensure readiness that inspection requirements of external QA agencies are and further visiting customer inspection agencies.

- Acquire in-depth knowledge of the project to appropriately respond to customer queries on the project.

- Interface with the customer for design/drawing approvals, project reviews, and technical meetings. Acquire in-depth knowledge of the project to appropriately respond to customer queries on the project.

- Attend project review meetings with customers.

- Coordinate the post-delivery support requirements of the customer.

- Experience in interaction and handling sub-vendors.

Skill:

- Excellent project management and contract management skills.

- Sound negotiation skills. Proactive approach to handling problems.

- Good oral and written communication and liaison skills.

Sound interpersonal skills:

- Good IT Skills for project management and correspondence (MS Project, MS Excel, PPT etc.).

- Qualifications / Experience Profile. Master's/Bachelor's degree in any related field.

- Person with approx. 6 to 10 years' experience in execution for projects for supply of engineered equipment. Experience in defence related manufacturing or production desirable.

- Should have very good knowledge of general engineering machinery and systems. Experience in preparation of specifications, quality assurance plans, and test protocols; a good understanding of requirements (including applicable standards); manufacturing technology preferable.
