The SAP AMS Delivery Manager will be responsible for overseeing project execution, resource allocation, client communication, and ensuring the successful delivery of AMS engagements covering SAP modules (preferably S4/HANA) on managed services delivery basis. The SDM will be responsible to manage the overall AMS service delivery for a portfolio of applications including SAP, Boomi integrations & non-SAP applications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical expertise, process understanding, leadership skills, and a track record of managing successful delivery of AMS projects.
Responsibilities:
- Own the overall delivery responsibility for the AMS engagement comprising of a portfolio of applications including SAP (MM, SD, FICO, TPM, PLM, PPM modules), custom SCM applications and integration platforms in Dell Boomi
- Lead and manage the support and enhancement team of 60+ members, comprising of SAP functional & technical consultants, integration developers, SCM & analytics consultants, other technical professionals to deliver the support services in line with the client requirements.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand expectations, and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and guide the team leads in tracking incidents, service requests and change requests, ensure prioritization and resolution as per the SLAs
- Monitor and track the SLAs and KPIs adherence against the targets, take corrective and remediation measures where there are gaps
- Regularly communicate SLA/KPI status, risks, and key metrics to clients, stakeholders, and senior management.
- Manage project scope, change requests, and scope creep, ensuring that changes are properly evaluated and controlled.
- Allocate resources effectively to optimize team productivity and project outcomes.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, encouraging knowledge sharing and professional development.
- Ensure the quality of deliverables by implementing best practices, quality assurance processes, and testing methodologies.
- Act as a point of escalation for project-related issues and conflicts, providing timely resolutions and solutions.
- Identify opportunities for process and continuous improvements and implement strategies to enhance delivery efficiency and effectiveness
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to software development and project delivery.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (15+ years) in SAP Implementation & Support, with a minimum of 7 years experience in AMS Program management including SAP and non-SAP applications
- Strong understanding of SAP application architecture and functionality
- Good understanding of the SAP modules (MM, SD, Mfg and TPM) both from functional and technical perspective
- Strong understanding of ITIL processes, software development lifecycle, methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.), and project management frameworks.
- Experience in managing application support for Middleware platforms (like Dell Boomi etc) Is preferred
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, mentor, and guide functional and technical professionals.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and client-facing skills; Ability to balance client needs with project constraints and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in project management tools, collaboration platforms, and reporting software.
- Certifications in project management (PMP, PRINCE2), Agile (CSM, PMI-ACP), etc are a plus.
