Enhance logistics operations efficiency to ensure timely service delivery, achieve high customer satisfaction, and optimize cost management.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Efficiency:
- Improve logistics operations to ensure timely customer service, targeting a high level of customer satisfaction.
Inbound and Outbound Logistics:
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics for both export and domestic orders.
Pan-India Operations:
- Oversee operations across 3-5 locations in India, effectively managing teams to ensure seamless coordination.
Logistics Fundamentals:
- Build strong fundamentals in logistics, focusing on planning, risk management, distribution, and cost control.
Freight Spend Management:
- Handle an overall freight budget of INR 3,500-4,000 million annually, ensuring cost optimization.
Dispatch Reliability:
- Schedule and maintain a minimum of 98% reliability for customer dispatches to enhance customer satisfaction.
Vendor Management:
- Manage vendors, negotiate contracts, and onboard new vendors to improve service quality and cost efficiency.
Sales Alignment:
- Collaborate with the sales team to align with vendors and liners for securing yearly volume commitments.
Vendor Performance Monitoring:
- Use digital tools to monitor vendor performance and draft action plans to elevate service levels.
Supply Chain Digitalization:
- Digitalize the entire supply chain, from first-mile to last-mile, ensuring a seamless process from order placement to safe delivery.
Reverse Logistics Optimization:
- Use AI tools to identify and utilize empty reverse haul vehicles, improving reverse logistics and reducing freight costs.
Route Optimization:
- Map optimal routes quarterly in alignment with sales planning to facilitate negotiations and achieve freight cost savings.
Demand and Supply Management:
- Address uncertainties, manage sudden order surges, and bridge seasonal demand-supply gaps to support sales during challenging periods.
Peak Season Planning:
- Proactively plan with fleet owners and aggregators to ensure readiness for peak seasons.
Multimodal Transport Collaboration:
- Work with government and private agencies to facilitate multimodal transport movements.
Green Logistics:
- Focus on green logistics initiatives, contributing to Scope 3 emission reduction goals.
Management Reporting:
- Deliver monthly presentations to management, reviewing service performance and freight metrics.
Team Collaboration:
- Foster openness and strong bonding among team members to enhance teamwork and morale.
MIS Reporting and Reviews:
- Conduct monthly Management Information System (MIS) reporting and team reviews across all plants.
