Manager - Inside Sales
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement inside sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets.
- Design and optimize lead generation, qualification, and conversion processes.
- Track sales metrics and KPIs to evaluate performance and forecast sales pipeline.
- Manage CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) to monitor and improve lead management.
Team Management:
- Hire, train, and mentor inside sales executives or business development reps (BDRs).
- Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching, and feedback sessions.
- Set individual targets aligned with organizational objectives and monitor achievement.
- Drive a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Customer Engagement & Relationship Management:
- Nurture relationships with inbound and outbound leads through calls, emails, and demos.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to deliver personalized sales pitches.
- Understand customer pain points and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Ensure excellent customer experience and transition of qualified leads to the sales/account team when needed.
Process & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of lead activity, conversions, and communications.
- Analyze campaign performance and suggest improvements to maximize ROI.
- Report weekly/monthly on team performance, revenue progress, and strategic challenges.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Sales & Business Acumen:
- Proven track record in managing inside sales or lead-generation teams
- Strong understanding of B2B/B2C sales cycles, lead funnels, and buyer personas
- Ability to handle objections and close deals effectively
Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong presentation and demo skills, preferably with screen-sharing tools (Zoom, Meet)
- High emotional intelligence and relationship-building capability
Technical Tools & Platforms:
- CRM: Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, FreshSales (any one)
- Outreach Tools: LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Mailchimp, Outreach.io
- Analytics: MS Excel, Google Sheets, or BI dashboards
- Knowledge of marketing automation tools is a plus
Qualifications:
- Bachelors/masters degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (MBA is a plus)
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, with at least 2+ years in a leadership/managerial role
- Prior experience in SaaS, EdTech, FinTech, IT Services, or B2B industries is preferred
