Suminter India Organics - Manager - Sourcing/Supply Chain

Job Description:

1. Origin development - Develop long term strategy for Africa organic and conventional sourcing. Identify origins for Suminter to operate in based on multiyear supply & demand analysis, global trade flow analysis and other relevant market insights.

2. Projects - Shortlisting areas for ICS formation, develop partners, lead farmers, ecosystem to support the operations

3. Sustainability - Build differentiated sustainability strategy (areas of impact) based on customer's needs for various products

4. Supply chain Infrastructure - Build commodity wise aggregation, post-harvest, pre-processing infrastructure at origins. Ensure zero avoidable losses.

5. Strategic Sourcing - Build crop balance sheets, market intelligence, identify quality, time, location arbitrages and build commodity wise buying strategy

6. Supplier Relationship - Management Develop deep industry relationships, strategic supply partners, long term engagement with key stakeholders within the supply chains

7. Procurement Operations- P2P process improvements, working capital management, design team structure, processes & tools to improve TAT for various activities. Ensure timely delivery on product to plant in India

8. Inventory management - Building commodity wise position strategy, grade/quality decisions, warehousing and liquidation of by-products

9. Digital tools- Identify and develop digital tools for traceability, sustainability and efficient procurement operations

10..Team development - Build agile, responsive and future ready capabilities/team, talent management.

Experience : 10-15 years

Functional Area - Agricultural Supply Chain. Preferably from Organic background.

Education - MBA in Agribusiness Management from Tier 1/Tier 2 B-schools preferably with

- B Sc Agriculture from reputed university

Location - Tanzania - Africa

- Good communication skills & presentable personality with strong people management skills

- Ability to lead large cross functional teams across multiple origins.

- Should have experience of building agricultural supply chains from scratch and scaling them up.

- Strong understanding of the agribusiness and depth in supply chain knowledge

- Strong influencing skills and be able to work under ambiguous situations with minimum guidance.

- Strong networking skills to be able to collaborate with govt agencies, farmer groups and various other external stakeholders.

- Good analytical skills
