Job Summary:
The State Head will be responsible for leading and driving the business operations, sales performance, and revenue growth for the assigned state. This role demands strategic planning, team management, market development, and efficient execution of business strategies to strengthen the company's position in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with national goals.
- Identify market opportunities, customer trends, and competitor activities.
Sales & Revenue Growth:
- Drive top-line growth across channels (retail, project sales, institutional).
- Meet or exceed sales targets and ensure profitability across the region.
Team Leadership:
- Manage and mentor a team Area Sales Managers, and Sales Executives.
- Set KPIs, review performance, and build a high-performance sales culture.
Channel Management:
- Strengthen dealer/distributor network and ensure high engagement.
- Conduct channel partner meets, trade promotions, and loyalty programs.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders - architects, builders, contractors, etc.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and handle escalations effectively.
Market Intelligence:
- Conduct regular market visits to understand customer behavior and competition.
- Provide inputs for product development, pricing strategies, and marketing initiatives.
Operational Excellence:
- Ensure timely collections, proper inventory management, and logistics coordination.
- Monitor compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
Key Skills Required:
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- In-depth knowledge of the building materials market
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving ability
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong business acumen and result orientation
- Familiarity with ERP/CRM systems and sales analytics tools
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- MBA in Sales & Marketing (preferred)
- Proven experience in handling large territories with diverse markets
