Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven General Manager - Projects with deep domain expertise in the pulp and paper industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end project lifecycle management, including CAPEX planning, technical-commercial coordination, and execution of greenfield and brownfield projects. The role requires a strong techno-commercial acumen, cross-functional leadership, and hands-on experience with papermachine, pulp mill, and utility operations.
Key Responsibilities (KRA):
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of capex projects ensuring adherence to scope, time, and budget.
- Oversee project design, engineering, procurement, erection, and commissioning activities.
- Drive coordination between project and commercial teams to translate technical specifications into commercial terms.
- Evaluate and select equipment and technology solutions aligned with industry advancements and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory norms across all project stages.
- Conduct technical feasibility studies and risk assessments for upcoming projects.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project integration.
- Engage with vendors, assess quotations, and perform competitive analysis for procurement decisions.
- Manage project reporting, performance metrics, and stakeholder communication.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the project execution team.
- Monitor and troubleshoot operational issues post-commissioning with O&M insights from papermachine, pulp mill, and utility units.
Required Skillsets:
- Strong project management skills with proven experience in CAPEX planning and execution.
- In-depth knowledge of pulp and paper industry processes, machinery, and utilities.
- Excellent techno-commercial capabilities with strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
- Hands-on experience in selection, erection, and commissioning of industrial equipment.
- Sound understanding of O&M best practices for papermachine, pulp mill, and utility.
- Strong leadership, team management, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in project documentation, scheduling tools (like MS Project/Primavera), and cost control systems.
