
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Curriculum Development Manager with 8-10 years of progressive experience in curriculum design, development, and implementation. The successful candidate will lead a team of curriculum developers, instructional designers, and subject matter experts to create, review, and enhance cutting-edge educational programs and resources. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of pedagogical best practices, learning theories, and content creation methodologies, capable of translating complex concepts into engaging and effective learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Vision:
- Lead the entire curriculum lifecycle, from ideation and needs assessment to design, development, implementation, evaluation, and revision.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, pedagogical research, and emerging technologies in education to ensure curriculum relevance and innovation.
Team Management & Development:
- Manage, mentor, and lead a team of curriculum developers, instructional designers, and content specialists.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, promoting continuous learning and professional growth.
- Assign projects, manage workloads, set clear objectives, and conduct performance evaluations for team members.
Curriculum Design & Development:
- Oversee the design and development of comprehensive and engaging curricula, instructional materials, assessments, and learning resources across various formats (e.g., online courses, blended
learning, workshops, print materials).
- Ensure all curriculum content is pedagogically sound, learner-centered, culturally responsive, and aligned with learning objectives and industry standards.
- Establish and maintain rigorous quality assurance processes for all curriculum products.
Project Management & Operations:
- Manage multiple curriculum development projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.
- Implement and optimize curriculum development processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, marketing, sales, and technology, to integrate curriculum into broader offerings.
Content Expertise & Quality Assurance:
- Provide expert guidance on instructional strategies, assessment design, and content organization.
- Develop and implement rubrics and quality standards for curriculum content.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Liaise with internal and external subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather content, validate accuracy, and ensure relevance.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to understand market demands and translate them into curriculum solutions.
- Gather feedback from learners, instructors, and stakeholders to inform curriculum improvements.
Qualifications
Education:
- Master's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with extensive experience may be considered.
Experience:
- 8-10 years of progressive experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or educational content creation.
- Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role, overseeing curriculum development projects and managing a team.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and developing curricula for diverse audiences and learning modalities (e.g., K-12, higher education, corporate training, online learning).
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and various educational technologies.
Skills & Competencies:
- Exceptional understanding of instructional design principles (e.g., ADDIE, SAM), learning theories, and adult learning principles.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage complex projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- Superior editing and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in curriculum authoring tools and relevant software (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, LMS platforms).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
