Job Overview:
- We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to oversee the Bangalore Territory with a focus on General Trade, Distribution Management, and Business Development.
- The ideal candidate will have proven experience in sales and distribution in the FMCG or consumer goods sector, with a strong understanding of territory management and customer relationship building.
- In this role, the Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth, expanding market share, managing distribution channels, and developing key business relationships across the Bangalore region.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve territory sales targets for General Trade.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, identifying areas of opportunity and optimizing the sales pipeline.
Distribution Management:
- Oversee and manage the distribution network in the Bangalore territory to ensure efficient product availability and stock management.
- Coordinate with distributors to maintain adequate stock levels, resolve issues, and ensure smooth distribution processes.
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing and potential customers in the general trade sector.
- Establish and nurture long-term relationships with key stakeholders, customers, and distributors.
Team Management:
- Lead and motivate a team of sales executives and distributors to meet and exceed sales objectives.
- Provide coaching, support, and performance evaluations to ensure high levels of team performance and motivation.
Market Intelligence:
- Conduct regular market research to understand customer needs, competitor activity, and industry trends.
- Report market insights and recommend adjustments to strategies based on competitive analysis.
Sales Reporting & Analytics:
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, distributor performance, and market conditions.
- Regularly report on key performance indicators (KPIs), sales trends, and territory performance to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
- 5+ years of experience in sales management within the General Trade & FMCG industry.
- Proven track record in territory management, distribution handling, and business development.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze market trends and competitor activities to make data-driven decisions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Familiarity with CRM software and sales management tools.
