We are looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and ethical standards within recruitment processes for both clinical and non-clinical roles.
The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to managing compliance, implementing policies, and mitigating risks while promoting diversity and ethical hiring practices.
Key Responsibilities.
- Stay updated with nursing regulations (e.g, licensing, health and safety standards, and patient care protocols).
- Ensure compliance with employment laws for non-clinical roles, such as labor laws, equal opportunity, and tax regulations.
- Maintain adherence to data protection laws (e.g, GDPR, HIPAA) in handling sensitive medical and personal data.
- Create and update compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures for recruitment processes.
- Standardize protocols for credential verification, background checks, and employment eligibility screening.
- Conduct regular training sessions on compliance policies, ethical hiring practices, and relevant legal standards.
- Educate recruitment personnel on patient confidentiality, workplace safety, and non-discriminatory practices.
- Conduct routine audits and spot checks on recruitment files and processes.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring documentation is accurate and complete.
- Proactively identify and mitigate compliance risks in collaboration with other departments.
- Prepare detailed compliance reports for senior management, including recommendations for corrective actions.
- Serve as the primary contact for regulatory bodies and coordinate inspections or audits.
- Ensure third-party agencies and contractors adhere to company's compliance standards.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in hiring practices.
- Ensure ethical standards are maintained throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
- Address and resolve complaints related to non-compliance or misconduct.
- Implement corrective actions, including updates to policies and additional staff training.
- Maintain comprehensive records of compliance activities, audits, employee credentials, and communications with regulatory bodies.
- Ensure data is securely stored in accordance with data protection laws.
- Periodically review compliance systems and recommend updates based on industry trends and regulatory changes.
- Implement feedback from audits and inspections to improve processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in compliance, preferably in recruitment, healthcare, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, healthcare regulations, and data protection standards.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze risks, manage audits, and maintain detailed records.
