Smartstream Technologies - Reference Data Analyst

Key Responsibilities:

- Reference Data Management: Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of all reference data related to financial instruments, counterparties, securities, and clients across multiple platforms.

- Data Maintenance: Maintain and update financial reference data, including security master data, reference files, market data, and counterparty data, to ensure completeness and correctness.

- Data Quality Assurance: Conduct regular data quality checks and audits to identify and correct discrepancies or errors in reference data.

- Process Improvement: Assist in the development and implementation of data governance and data quality standards and policies to improve the efficiency and accuracy of reference data management.

- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams such as trading, risk management, compliance, and operations to support data requirements and resolve any data-related issues.

- Reporting: Prepare and distribute periodic reports on data quality metrics, trends, and issues, providing insights to senior management and stakeholders.

- System Support: Support the integration and maintenance of reference data systems, ensuring they align with business requirements and workflows.

- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all reference data complies with regulatory requirements, including financial market standards and internal policies.

- Data Reconciliation: Reconcile discrepancies between different systems or platforms to ensure data consistency and prevent any operational risks or errors.

Skills & Qualifications

Mandatory Skills

- 3-4 years of experience in reference data management, preferably in financial services or investment banking.

- Strong understanding of financial instruments (equities, bonds, derivatives, etc.) and their data requirements.

- Familiarity with data management tools, databases, and platforms.

- Strong analytical skills with a focus on data accuracy and attention to detail.

- Knowledge of data quality assurance processes and techniques.

- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to address data-related issues and provide solutions.

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Advanced), and familiarity with data management systems (SQL or other database tools is a plus).

Preferred Skills

- Degree in Finance, Economics, or related fields (or equivalent professional experience).

- Knowledge of market data providers (Bloomberg, Reuters, etc.) and how reference data is sourced and processed.

- Experience with data governance frameworks and financial data integration.

- Familiarity with financial regulations such as MiFID II, Dodd-Frank, etc.

- Proficiency in other programming languages such as SQL or data visualization tools is a plus
