Job Summary: We need an experienced professional to lead our new plant setup from concept to commissioning. This role involves managing the full project lifecycle, including budget, timelines, and all regulatory approvals. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in chemical engineering and a proven track record of managing greenfield projects in India.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering & Technical Oversight: Finalize engineering design and plant layout. Manage the procurement of all major equipment. Oversee construction, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
- Regulatory Management: Secure all necessary licenses and permits from local and state authorities, including the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB). Ensure compliance with Indian regulations like the Factories Act.
- Vendor & Contractor Management: Vet and manage all third-party vendors and contractors. Negotiate contracts and oversee site operations.
- Commissioning & Handover: Lead the commissioning and validation of the plant. Develop a seamless handover plan to the production and operations teams.
- Budgeting & Reporting: Manage the project budget, track expenditures, and provide regular reports to senior management.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in the chemical or process manufacturing industry.
- Must have successfully managed at least one complete greenfield project.
- Extensive knowledge of the Indian regulatory environment, especially in Gujarat, is highly preferred.
Skills:
- Strong project management, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Proficient in project management software.
- Decisive and results-oriented.
