ShadowFax - Senior Manager - Planning - Line Haul

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Manager to lead the planning and optimization of our Line Haul Operations in Bilaspur. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing cost-effective transportation strategies, ensuring on-time deliveries, improving route efficiencies, and leading a team to support the growing logistics network.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Execution:

- Develop and implement short- and long-term plans for line haul operations.

- Optimize route planning and transit schedules to minimize costs and improve service quality.

- Analyse capacity requirements, seasonal demands, and volume forecasts.

Operational Efficiency:

- Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) like TAT, load factor, fuel efficiency, and route adherence.

- Manage fleet utilization and collaborate with vendors to ensure vehicle availability and reliability.

- Coordinate with hubs and cross-docking centers to streamline line haul connectivity.

Team Leadership:

- Lead and mentor a team of planners, supervisors, and coordinators.

- Set clear goals, track performance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management:

- Liaise with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), fleet vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.

- Negotiate contracts and assess vendor performance based on service quality and compliance.

Technology & Reporting:

- Use transport management systems (TMS) and analytics tools to support decision-making.

- Generate reports for senior leadership on costs, productivity, route performance, and compliance.

Requirements :

- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).

- Minimum 7 years of experience in logistics or transportation planning, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.

- Proven experience in line haul / Gateway Operations or long-distance operations is essential.

- Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making ability.

- Hands-on experience with TMS, route optimization software, and Excel/Power BI.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
