Description:
This role will be fully accountable for the Lead and Execution of Energy Yield Assessment (EYA) assignments, development of meteorological files, and performing long-term resource forecasting using advanced modeling tools and regression techniques.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead a team, work on state-of-the-art wind energy projects, and contribute to the development of new services within the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- EYA Assignment Execution: Full accountability for the execution of Energy Yield Assessment (EYA) assignments.
- Meteorological Data Analysis: Analysis and development of meteorological files and assumptions for incorporation into modeling tools.
- Forecasting & Modeling: Use measure-correlate-predict methods and other regression models for long-term resource forecasting.
- Wind Energy Assessments: Develop annual and long-term wind energy assessments using various modeling tools.
- Uncertainty Analysis: Perform uncertainty analyses with statistical and pragmatic approaches to determine probabilistic energy production forecasts.
- Data Analysis: Analyze energy production data from wind projects, comparing operating vs. modeled data, performing downtime analysis, and conducting various comparative analyses using quantitative methods.
- Review & Commenting: Review and provide feedback on resource assessments and energy estimates from external consultants.
- Technical Documentation: Write technical reports and documentation related to the wind resource assessments and energy estimates.
- Proposal Assistance: Assist in the preparation of proposals, including defining scope, schedule, and budgeting for wind energy projects.
- Project Management: Support project management tasks related to resource assessment projects.
- New Service Development: Collaborate with business units in the development and implementation of new services and offerings.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience with Wind Energy Software: Proficiency in WindFarmer, WAsP, WindPRO, or other wind energy modeling tools.
- Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership abilities, with excellent communication skills for cross-functional team coordination and client interactions.
- Wind Flow Principles: Comprehensive understanding of wind flow principles and wind resource assessment techniques.
- Statistical Analysis Skills: Strong aptitude in statistical analysis of data, including relevant tools and software.
- Microsoft Office Fluency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Technical Report Writing: Ability to produce clear, detailed technical reports.
- Proven Experience: At least 18-20 years of experience in wind resource assessment and related tasks.
