About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Tariff Analyst with strong analytical and leadership capabilities to oversee the modeling, validation, and deployment of complex utility tariffs and rate structures. This role requires a balance of technical acumen, stakeholder management, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will bring a problem-solving mindset, solid experience in data analysis, and the ability to guide cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, interpret, and model complex utility tariffs, rates, and programs.
- Continuously maintain and enhance tariff models based on evolving business or regulatory requirements.
- Lead and manage a team of analysts by fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
- Drive Agile sprint ceremonies (planning, daily standups, reviews, retrospectives) and ensure successful sprint goal deliveries.
- Validate client data for accuracy and completeness prior to modeling efforts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve tariff logic issues in internal and external tools/products.
- Ensure rigorous validation, regression testing, and adherence to change management protocols during tariff model deployments.
- Investigate and resolve mismatches between shadow bills and actual utility bills.
- Propose and implement automation and process improvements to reduce manual effort and error-prone tasks.
- Mentor junior and senior analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
- Develop and maintain clear documentation for requirements, processes, models, and enhancements.
Required Qualifications
- 6-8 years of overall industry experience, with at least 2 years in a team lead or senior role.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or other analytical disciplines.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
- Strong understanding of relational databases and ability to write SQL queries.
- Experience in programming with Python or Shell scripting.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven experience working with cross-functional and globally distributed teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the Energy or Utilities sector with familiarity in electricity or gas tariffs.
- Hands-on experience with tools like Excel Macros, Power Query, or similar data automation tools.
- Passionate about data analysis, efficiency improvements, and automation.
- Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Experience in stakeholder management and delivery coordination in a matrixed organization.
