Overview:
We are seeking an experienced professional to support advisory and implementation projects at the intersection of agriculture, climate change, and policy. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with government agencies, multilaterals, and diverse stakeholders to design and implement sustainable, climate-resilient solutions in agriculture and livelihoods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage closely with government agencies, clients, and partners to deliver advisory projects in the agriculture domain.
- Design, implement, and monitor climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies, with a focus on agricultural systems and rural livelihoods.
- Apply recognized frameworks and models for climate change adaptation, mitigation, and carbon markets.
- Support the development of policy solutions through the application of climate models and data-driven analysis.
- Liaise with multilateral organizations (e.g., UN agencies, development banks) and contribute to proposal development and project execution.
- Conduct research, analysis, and field assessments across India to inform project design and delivery.
- Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, and knowledge products for government and donor audiences.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and effective project delivery.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience working closely with government agencies or clients on advisory projects in the agriculture sector.
- Strong background in climate change-related projects, especially in agriculture and rural livelihoods.
- Demonstrated understanding of carbon markets, mitigation and adaptation models, and globally recognised frameworks (e.g., IPCC guidelines, GHG protocols).
- Hands-on experience applying adaptation and mitigation models to real-world agricultural contexts (preferred).
- Familiarity with using climate models to develop policy-relevant solutions.
- Experience working on projects across different regions of India is highly desirable.
- Prior work with multilateral organizations (e.g., UN, World Bank, IFAD) will be considered an advantage.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.
