Job Summary:
- We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Purchase Manager to lead and manage our procurement activities for MRO, Indirect, and Technical purchases.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective purchasing strategies, negotiating contracts with vendors, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services, and managing vendor relationships.
- This role requires a strong understanding of procurement processes, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- The Senior Purchase Manager will play a critical role in optimizing our procurement operations and contributing to the overall success of the organization.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing and Procurement:
- Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies for MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations), Indirect, and Technical purchases, aligning with business objectives and budgetary constraints.
- Identify, evaluate, and select potential vendors based on quality, cost, reliability, and service.
- Conduct market research and analysis to stay abreast of industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new technologies.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Implement and manage a robust vendor performance monitoring system.
MRO Procurement:
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process for MRO supplies, ensuring timely availability of critical spares and consumables.
- Optimize inventory levels for MRO items to minimize holding costs while ensuring operational continuity.
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to understand their requirements and ensure accurate and timely procurement.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with MRO suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable terms.
Indirect Procurement:
- Manage the procurement of various indirect goods and services, including office supplies, IT equipment, marketing materials, travel, and other operational expenses.
- Develop and implement efficient procurement processes for indirect spend categories.
- Negotiate best possible prices and terms with indirect suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures for indirect procurement.
Technical Procurement:
- Manage the procurement of technical equipment, components, and services required for
production or specific projects.
- Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to understand technical specifications and requirements.
- Identify and evaluate vendors capable of meeting technical specifications and quality standards.
- Negotiate complex contracts and agreements for technical purchases, considering technical aspects and long-term implications.
Contract Negotiation and Management:
- Lead and manage the negotiation of contracts, agreements, and purchase orders with vendors to secure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Review and analyze contract terms and conditions to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
- Manage contract lifecycle, including renewals, amendments, and terminations.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal and ethical standards.
Vendor Onboarding and Management:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive vendor onboarding process, including due diligence and qualification.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key vendors.
- Monitor vendor performance against agreed-upon KPIs and address any issues or discrepancies.
- Conduct regular vendor performance reviews and drive continuous improvement.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate procurement records and generate regular reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and vendor performance.
- Analyze procurement data to identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvement.
- Utilize Excel and other tools to track and analyze procurement spend.
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders across various departments to understand their procurement needs and provide support.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and build strong, collaborative relationships.
Skills:
- Proven experience in MRO Procurement.
- Strong understanding of Indirect Purchase processes and best practices.
- Experience in Technical Purchase and sourcing of technical goods and services.
- Excellent Contract Negotiation skills with a proven track record of achieving cost savings and favorable terms.
- Proficiency in Vendor Onboarding processes, including due diligence and qualification.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and formula creation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of procurement software and ERP systems (preferred).
- Understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement.
Qualification:
- Graduate degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- MBA or relevant postgraduate degree is preferred
