About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Lead Data Privacy to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing data privacy frameworks, handling data protection incidents, ensuring compliance with global privacy laws, and advising key stakeholders on data protection matters.

This is a high-impact role with exposure to cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and external regulators.

Key Responsibilities (KRAs):

- Lead implementation and continuous improvement of the organizations Data Privacy Framework in line with GDPR, CCPA, PDPB, and other applicable privacy regulations.

- Manage data privacy risk assessments across new and existing business processes, products, and services.

- Drive Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) and implement necessary controls to mitigate privacy risks.

- Act as the primary point of contact for all data privacy incidents and data breaches, including investigation, remediation, and reporting to regulators as required.

- Develop, update, and maintain privacy policies, standards, and processes, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

- Conduct regular internal audits to assess data privacy compliance and readiness.

- Provide expert guidance to product, legal, compliance, IT, and business teams on privacy-by-design and privacy-by-default practices.

- Conduct training and awareness sessions to build a strong data privacy culture within the organization.

- Liaise with external regulators, auditors, and data protection authorities as required.

- Support contract reviews, data processing agreements, and cross-border data transfer mechanisms in alignment with privacy laws.

- Monitor global privacy regulatory developments and advise on necessary adjustments to internal processes.

Required Skillsets & Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in Law (LLB) is mandatory.

- 5-7 years of relevant experience in Data Privacy, Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management, or Legal Advisory related to privacy laws.

- In-depth knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, PDPB, and other global data protection laws.

- Proven experience in handling data breaches, risk assessments, and DPIAs.

- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across legal, product, compliance, and technical teams.

- Hands-on experience drafting privacy policies, data processing agreements, and cross-border data transfer frameworks.

- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

- Certification in data privacy (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM) is a plus
