Sarga - Head - Supply Chain Management

This senior leadership role is with a group, 100+ year old in engineering & project-oriented conglomerate with diversified businesses in oil & gas, petroleum products, shipyard and heavy engineering. The group is seeking a highly experienced and strategic General Manager to lead the Supply Chain Operations in Mumbai. This critical role will be responsible for developing and implementing supply chain strategies that optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Global Sourcing , procurement, and inventory management , sourcing from China within the shipping or transportation industry is a mandatory requuirement.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement supply chain strategies for the shipbuilding and shipping industry that align with company objectives, focusing on Global Sourcing , efficiency, cost reduction, and customer satisfaction.

- Oversee procurement of goods and services, Sourcing strategy from China ensuring optimal vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.

- Manage inventory levels, utilizing data analytics to forecast demand, optimize stock, and minimize costs.

- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and quality standards relevant to the shipping industry.

- Analyze supply chain data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvement and risk mitigation with respect to shipbuilding and shipping industry

Key Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).

- Minimum of 12+ years of managerial experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations within the shipping or transportation industry.

- Proven track record in supply chain strategy development, logistics management, and supplier negotiations, Global Sourcing

- Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Proficiency in data analysis and supply chain management software.
