Position: Sales Manager

Location: Ahmedabad / Pune

About the Job:

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and results-oriented Sales Manager to drive revenue growth and expand our market presence in the Ahmedabad or Pune region. Reporting to [Insert Reporting Manager Title], the Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans, managing distributor networks, cultivating key customer relationships, and achieving ambitious sales targets within the Manufacturing/Industrial Manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of industrial sales processes, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a proven track record of exceeding sales objectives. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong work ethic, technical aptitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic:

- Business Planning: Prepare and secure approval for a comprehensive annual Business Plan outlining strategies, targets, and action plans to achieve the assigned sales and growth objectives for the designated territory.

- Sales Forecasting: Provide accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts, incorporating market trends, competitive landscape, and sales pipeline analysis.

- CRM Management: Implement and ensure strict adherence to CRM reporting norms and processes within the team and distributor network, maintaining accurate and up-to-date sales data.

- Competitive Analysis: Continuously monitor and analyze competitor activities, pricing strategies, and market trends, providing regular updates and insights to inform strategic decision-making.

Operational:

- Revenue Achievement: Aggressively pursue and achieve assigned revenue targets by effectively converting offers into confirmed orders through consistent and strategic follow-up with potential and existing customers.

- Distributor Management: Collaborate closely with existing distributors and dealers to expand market coverage, optimize their sales efforts, and ensure alignment with company sales strategies and targets.

- Receivables Management: Ensure timely collection of payments from customers and distributors, actively working towards meeting established receivable goals and minimizing outstanding dues.

- Technical Support: Provide essential technical support and guidance to the sales team, distributors, and subordinate staff, ensuring they possess the necessary product knowledge and application understanding.

- Distributor Performance Review: Regularly review and evaluate the performance of distributors, identify performance gaps, and develop and implement effective action plans to improve their effectiveness and drive sales.

- Distributor Network Expansion: Proactively identify and onboard new potential distributors to expand the company's reach and penetration within the assigned territory.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Strategic Business Unit (SBU) heads and other internal stakeholders to implement agreed-upon action plans and ensure seamless execution of sales strategies.

- Client Base Management: Maintain an updated and comprehensive client list, actively identify and pursue new customer opportunities to continuously expand the customer base.

- Key Account Management: Ensure the highest levels of service are provided to key accounts, building strong and lasting relationships to drive year-on-year revenue growth and explore upselling/cross-selling opportunities.

- Tender Support: Assist in pre-bid meetings, providing necessary sales and technical information, and offer support to the sales coordinator in preparing tender documents.

- Lead Management: Respond promptly and efficiently to sales leads generated from various channels (e.g., online inquiries, referrals, marketing campaigns).

- Product Knowledge & Demonstrations: Maintain a thorough understanding of the company's products and their applications, conduct site surveys to assess customer needs, and deliver effective product demonstrations.

- Internal Coordination: Coordinate effectively with the reporting manager on all administrative, sales-related, and delivery-related issues to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

- Territory Management: Prepare and seek approval for a strategic travel plan to effectively cover the assigned territory, ensuring optimal customer engagement and market penetration.

- Marketing Support: Coordinate and actively participate in regional exhibitions, seminars, and roadshows to generate leads, enhance brand visibility, and network with potential customers.

- Customer Training: Conduct customer training seminars in collaboration with product specialists to educate customers on product features, benefits, and best practices.

- Confidentiality: Maintain the strictest confidentiality regarding customer information, pricing details, and other sensitive company data.

Qualification & Experience:

Education:

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) with a professional qualification such as an MBA or PGDBM in Marketing or Sales.

Experience:

Minimum of 1 to 4 years of proven sales experience within the Manufacturing or Industrial Manufacturing industry.

- Proven negotiation and persuasion abilities.

- Strong customer relationship management skills.
