DESCRIPTION:
RKW team is seeking a highly motivated professional with a passion for P&L Management and people leadership. Our mission is to delight customers by working with vendors to offer the best selection, pricing and delivery convenience across a wide range of products. The Manager Vendor Manager will lead a high-performing team and will be responsible for driving both the top and bottom line
metrics for a category. To deliver results, this person will own strategic vendor relationships, expand product selection, negotiate vendor terms, partner with marketing teams to drive traffic, and work with operations and instock to guarantee product availability. Ultimately, we expect the Manager, Vendor Management (MVM) to be a passionate customer advocate within RKW and have a long-term, cross-functional mindset and a deep understanding of the P&L.
Key job responsibilities:
- Full P&L responsibility, including planning, forecasting and driving growth for the category.
- Will have a strong passion for managing, hiring, developing and leading a team of Retail Vendor Managers.
- Proven record of driving strategic vendor negotiations and delivering outsized results. Comfortable representing RKW when meeting with senior executive teams from top vendors.
- Effective at setting goals and strategic direction for the business, ensuring alignment with broader business goals and vision.
- Skilled communicator in working with external stakeholders like vendors and marketplaces, as well as with internal groups such as instock, legal, finance, operations, and marketing teams to deliver innovation and a better customer experience.
- Strong in cross-functional collaboration on necessary systems and processes to support business needs.
- Adept at identifying industry trends that are relevant to customer selection and experience.
- Drive high-impact projects at org level.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 7+ years of account management, vendor management, or retail experience
- Master's degree (preferably MBA from a Tier 1 institute)
- Experience with vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion or inventory management
- Experience driving direction and internal cross-team collaboration
- Experience in managing and developing a high-performance team.
