Business Head
Job Title: Business Head - South Zone (Railway Catering & QSR Operations)
Location: South India (Bangalore/Chennai/Hyderabad - Preferred)
Reporting To: Managing Director / CEO - RK Business Group
Role Summary:
- RK Business Group is seeking a strategic and seasoned Business Head to drive operations, sales, and growth of its railway catering and QSR verticals across the South Zone.
- The role will own the end-to-end P&L, oversee multi-location operations, and build high-performing teams while ensuring best-in-class service, compliance, and profitability.
- With a strong background in managing complex operations, vendor networks, and cross-functional teams, the ideal candidate will bring vision, execution excellence, and entrepreneurial energy to scale the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Business Growth:
- Define and implement the business roadmap for the South Zone across catering and QSR verticals
- Identify expansion opportunities in railway catering tenders, retail formats, and key travel hubs
- Build and execute go-to-market strategies for new product launches and services
Operations Excellence:
- Ensure smooth, compliant, and cost-effective operations of railway catering and QSR outlets
- Implement SOPs and quality control systems across all locations
- Monitor and drive efficiency in supply chain, procurement, and vendor management
Sales, Revenue & Customer Experience:
- Drive top-line growth through B2B/B2C sales and institutional tie-ups
- Own the P&L with a clear focus on profitability and working capital efficiency
- Enhance customer satisfaction through continuous service and experience upgrades
Team Building & People Leadership:
- Lead a diverse team spanning kitchen staff, sales personnel, logistics, and operations managers
- Build a performance-driven culture with clear KPIs and review mechanisms
- Coordinate closely with central HR for recruitment, L&D, and compliance
Compliance & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Ensure adherence to FSSAI, IRCTC, labor, and other statutory norms
- Maintain relationships with railway officials, government agencies, vendors, and clients
- Represent the company in zone-specific forums and negotiations
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Experience: 15-20 years in FMCG, Travel, QSR, or Catering, with at least 5 years in a business head/regional head capacity
- Education: MBA (IIM/IIFT preferred), or equivalent from a reputed institute
- Functional Expertise: Business development, operations, procurement, P&L management, team leadership
- Preferred Background: Candidates with multi-industry exposure (Banking, Travel, FMCG) and experience in startup-scale environments will be a strong fit
- Skills: Strategic thinking, negotiation, stakeholder management, financial acumen, and operational leadership
