Role Summary:
As Regional Manager - Building Material division, you will drive sales growth, market share, and profitability for the region, ensuring the strategic implementation of competitive intelligence, sales planning, dealer management, and market penetration initiatives.
This role demands a strong commercial acumen and proven experience in managing large sales teams and complex distribution networks.
Key Responsibilities:
Competitive Intelligence:
- Conduct in-depth market research on pricing, product quality, and brand positioning.
- Analyze competitor strategies and recommend countermeasures to maintain market leadership.
- Leverage trade insights to guide regional sales strategies.
Sales & Profitability:
- Define and execute regional targets (volume, value, profitability) aligned with business goals.
- Create and validate sales forecasts, pricing models, and growth roadmaps.
- Lead dealer development, loyalty programs, and channel performance initiatives.
- Recommend pricing and commercial strategies aligned with market realities.
- Drive efforts to gain/retain market share, particularly in the white cement category.
- Ensure timely and complete collections from all regional customers.
- Conduct field visits and evaluate dealer performance, addressing gaps and supporting underperformers.
- Obtain necessary approvals from Zonal Head for project sales or special terms in trade deals.
Sales, Profitability & Collections Review:
- Track and review daily sales vs. targets and collections.
- Develop and execute corrective action plans to meet short-term and long-term goals.
- Monitor expansion initiatives such as Cement Express, Stock on Wheels, and Rural Penetration Projects, ensuring timely rollout and measurable results.
Key Requirements:
- MBA from a reputed institute.
- 10-15 years of experience in sales and regional management roles, preferably in the cement/building materials sector.
- Strong experience in dealer/channel management, pricing strategies, and revenue forecasting.
- Demonstrated success in growing regional market share and profitability.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the region
