Head of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) - India
Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of DEIB to lead our diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives across India. This strategic leadership role will drive transformational change in creating an inclusive workplace culture while ensuring equitable opportunities for all employees. The successful candidate will develop and implement comprehensive DEIB strategies that align with our organizational values and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Vision
- Develop and execute comprehensive DEIB strategy for India operations, aligned with global organizational goals
- Lead cultural transformation initiatives to foster an inclusive and belonging-focused workplace
- Partner with senior leadership to integrate DEIB principles into business strategies and decision-making processes
- Establish measurable DEIB goals, metrics, and accountability frameworks
Program Development & Implementation
- Design and oversee returning talent programs to support career re-entry for professionals returning to the workforce after career breaks
- Create mentorship and sponsorship programs to advance underrepresented talent
- Develop inclusive recruitment, retention, and advancement strategies
- Implement bias mitigation programs across all people processes
Education & Awareness
- Lead comprehensive DEIB education and awareness programs for all organizational levels
- Design and deliver inclusive leadership training for managers and executives
- Create unconscious bias training programs and workshops
- Develop communication strategies to promote DEIB awareness across the organization
- Establish learning pathways for continuous DEIB education
Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
- Establish, support, and scale Employee Resource Groups across various dimensions of diversity
- Provide strategic guidance, resources, and executive sponsorship for ERG initiatives
- Facilitate cross-ERG collaboration and knowledge sharing
- Measure ERG impact and effectiveness in driving inclusion
Data Analytics & Reporting
- Establish DEIB data collection, analysis, and reporting mechanisms
- Conduct regular organizational assessments on inclusion and belonging
- Present insights and recommendations to leadership based on data-driven analysis
- Track progress against DEIB objectives and adjust strategies accordingly
External Partnerships & Community Engagement
- Build strategic partnerships with external DEIB organizations, educational institutions, and community groups
- Represent the organization at industry DEIB forums and conferences
- Collaborate with diversity-focused professional networks and associations
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 10-15 years of progressive experience in DEIB, HR, or organizational development roles
- Proven track record of leading DEIB initiatives in large, complex organizations
- Experience working in multicultural environments, preferably in India or Asia-Pacific region
Core Competencies
- Deep understanding of DEIB principles, frameworks, and best practices
- Strong knowledge of Indian employment law, cultural nuances, and diversity landscape
- Experience with returning talent programs and career reintegration initiatives
- Expertise in adult learning principles and training program development
- Demonstrated ability to establish and manage Employee Resource Groups

- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with ability to influence at all organizational levels
- Strong facilitation and conflict resolution capabilities

Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification in DEIB

- Previous experience in technology, financial services, or consulting industries
Travel Requirements
- 20% travel within India and occasional international travel for conferences, training, and cross-regional collaboration
- Willingness to travel to multiple office locations and engage with diverse employee populations
