Role Overview

We are hiring a Functional Project Manager to lead and manage business-driven initiatives in the Banking and Financial Services domain.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with business users, translating requirements into deliverables, and ensuring smooth execution of functional projects such as core banking upgrades, digital banking, lending platforms, KYC, regulatory projects, etc.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end delivery of functional projects in the BFSI space.

- Engage with business stakeholders to gather, define, and validate requirements.

- Create project charters, functional requirement documents (FRDs), and status reports.

- Monitor project scope, timelines, risks, and resources.

- Facilitate UAT, training, and change management activities.

- Act as a bridge between business, operations, and IT teams (no coding required).

- Track project milestones and ensure timely delivery aligned with compliance and business objectives.

- Ensure project documentation is audit-ready and up to regulatory standards.

Key Requirements

- 8+ years of total experience with at least 4+ years as a functional project manager in BFSI.

- Strong domain knowledge in Retail Banking, Lending, Payments, Core Banking Systems, Compliance, or KYC/AML.

- Experience working with business stakeholders and translating requirements into clear documentation.

- Hands-on experience with project tracking tools like JIRA, MS Project, or Excel.

- Knowledge of Agile, and Waterfall methodologies.

- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

- Prior experience handling client-facing projects and governance meetings.

Preferred Certifications (Nice to Have)

- PMP / Prince2.

- Certified Scrum Master (CSM).

- Domain-specific certifications in banking or finance.
