We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Head to lead and oversee end-to-end execution of capital and strategic projects in our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for planning, coordination, resource allocation, and ensuring timely and cost-effective completion of projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Engineering:
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of new projects including LC Chrome plant setup, furnaces, slag management systems, raw material handling, and utilities.
- Ensure detailed project feasibility studies, including technical and financial analysis.
- Develop and track project schedules using tools like MS Project or Primavera.
2. Technical Leadership:
- Drive selection, installation, and commissioning of key equipment like electric arc furnaces (EAFs), Argon oxygen decarburization (AOD) converters, and pollution control systems.
- Work with R&D/Process Engineering teams to incorporate best-in-class metallurgical processes for LC Chrome production.
3. Vendor & Contractor Management:
- Manage tendering, negotiation, contracting, and execution with EPC contractors, machinery suppliers, and civil contractors.
- Ensure quality control during procurement, fabrication, and erection stages.
4. Budget & Resource Management:
- Prepare and monitor project budgets; control capital expenditure (CapEx) against approved costs.
- Forecast resource needs and align with procurement and finance teams.
5. Safety, Compliance & Environment:
- Ensure full adherence to environmental norms (e.g., emissions, effluent discharge), and compliance with metallurgical industry safety standards.
- Oversee statutory approvals and clearances from regulatory bodies.
6. Monitoring & Reporting:
- Establish project KPIs and regularly report progress to top management.
- Implement project documentation systems, including site logs, cost trackers, and HSE reports.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 10-15 years of experience in heavy industry project execution, with at least 5 years in ferroalloy or LC Chrome projects.
- Must have strong domain knowledge of ferroalloy/LC Chrome manufacturing processes, electric arc furnaces, refining, and allied systems.
