About the Role:

We are seeking a highly accomplished and results-driven Project Head to lead and oversee our critical commercial projects from inception to successful completion. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with a proven track record of managing complex projects, driving profitability, ensuring client satisfaction, and leading multi-disciplinary teams. This role demands a blend of strong project management expertise, commercial acumen, exceptional leadership, and the ability to navigate challenges in a fast-paced environment.

As Project Head, you will be accountable for the overall success of assigned commercial ventures, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, to the required quality standards, and meet all strategic business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Vision:

- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.

- Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed work breakdown structures, resource allocation, timelines, and budget forecasts.

- Establish project governance structures, roles, and responsibilities.

Project Execution & Delivery:

- Lead and manage the execution of commercial projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), and best practices.

- Monitor project progress, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.

- Oversee the quality of deliverables and ensure they meet client expectations and internal standards.

- Drive problem-solving and decision-making to overcome project obstacles and risks.

Team Leadership & Management:

- Build, lead, mentor, and motivate high-performing project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

- Define individual roles, responsibilities, and performance objectives for team members.

- Conduct performance reviews and support professional development for the project team.

- Effectively manage conflicts and facilitate resolution within the team.

Stakeholder Management & Communication:

- Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications with clients, internal stakeholders, and third-party vendors.

- Establish and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders, managing expectations and ensuring transparency.

- Provide regular, clear, and concise project status reports to senior management and clients.

- Facilitate effective meetings and workshops to drive project progress and alignment.

Financial & Risk Management:

- Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure financial targets are met, focusing on profitability.

- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, developing contingency plans.

- Oversee contract compliance and manage vendor relationships.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

- Ensure all project activities and deliverables comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies.

- Implement quality control processes and conduct regular quality reviews.

Post-Project Activities:

- Oversee project closure activities, including final reporting, lessons learned, and handover to operational teams.

- Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess project success and identify areas for future improvement.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's /Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.

- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification is highly preferred.

Required Skills & Experience:

- 15 years of progressive experience in project management, with a minimum of 10 + years in a leadership role (e.g., Senior Project Manager, Program Manager, Project Head) overseeing commercial projects.

- Demonstrated success in delivering complex projects on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.

- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and tools.

- Exceptional leadership, team-building, and motivational skills.

- Proven ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance of projects.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with all levels of an organization and external clients.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to risk management.

- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Jira, Asana, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6).

- Experience in e.g., IT Software Development, Construction, Product Manufacturing, Consulting] is highly desirable.

- Experience with change management principles.

- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
