Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will encompass daily operations, patient care service, financial counseling, floor management, efficiency and employee management, hospital data management, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Overall Daily Operations and Administration Management:
- Ensure smooth workflow and efficient processes within the department.
- Handle administrative tasks, including record-keeping, reporting, and correspondence.
Patient Care Service:
- Provide empathetic and professional support to patients and their families.
- Ensure a positive and supportive patient experience related to financial matters.
Financial Counseling of Patients:
- Explain hospital billing procedures, payment options, and financial assistance programs clearly and patiently.
- Assist patients in understanding their insurance benefits, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses.
- Counsel patients on available payment plans, financing options, and government assistance programs.
- Facilitate communication between patients, insurance providers, and the hospital's billing department.
- Address patient concerns and resolve financial issues effectively and efficiently.
Floor Management:
- Liaise with other departments (e.g., admissions, billing, patient services) to streamline patient processes.
- Maintain a well-organized and professional environment within patient interaction areas.
Efficiency and Employees Management:
- Potentially supervise or mentor junior staff, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Hospital Data Management:
- Ensure data integrity and confidentiality in accordance with hospital policies and regulations.
- Generate reports and provide data insights related to patient financial counseling activities.
Compliances / Documentation (NABH, NABL, PCPNDT):
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation as required by accreditation standards and legal regulations.
- Participate in audits and ensure compliance with all applicable standards.
Qualifications:
- 2+ experience in financial counseling, patient financial services, or a related role within a healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of hospital billing processes, insurance plans, and healthcare financing options.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
- Empathy, compassion, and a genuine desire to help patients navigate financial challenges.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proficiency in using hospital information systems and relevant software.
- Knowledge of NABH, NABL, and PCPNDT guidelines and their implications for patient financial processes is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
