Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Control
- Lead end-to-end production of distribution and power transformers, ensuring timely and cost-effective output.
- Develop and monitor production schedules, capacity planning, and shift-wise load distribution.
- Ensure alignment with sales forecasts, delivery commitments, and plant efficiency goals.
2. Team & Operations Leadership
- Oversee a multi-functional team across winding, core assembly, tank fabrication, oil processing, and final assembly.
- Lead, mentor, and upskill production engineers, supervisors, and shop-floor staff.
- Promote a culture of discipline, accountability, and performance.
3. Process Optimization & Lean Manufacturing
- Implement lean principles to reduce waste, cycle times, and rework.
- Identify and drive process improvements through layout optimization, work instruction standardization, and automation.
- Coordinate with R&D and Design teams for manufacturability input and design feedback.
4. Quality & Compliance Oversight
- Ensure adherence to ISO 9001:2015 systems and quality control checkpoints throughout the manufacturing cycle.
- Collaborate with QA/QC and Testing departments to meet internal and client-specific quality standards.
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions for non-conformance issues.
5. Resource & Inventory Management
- Manage plant resources, including manpower, tools, consumables, and machinery utilization.
- Coordinate with SCM for timely material availability and ensure minimal production downtime.
6. Health, Safety & Statutory Compliance
- Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing EHS standards and statutory compliance (e.g., electrical safety, lifting protocols, confined space work).
- Drive safety awareness and training programs across the plant.
7. Cost Management & Reporting
- Control production costs through efficient resource planning and waste reduction.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports, KPIs, and MIS for management review.
