Procurement Head
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Procurement Head to lead the procurement function for both Direct (Aircraft parts, MRO, Fuel, Ground Support Equipment) and Indirect (IT, Facilities, Admin, HR, Marketing) spend categories. The ideal candidate will bring deep industry knowledge, strong vendor management skills, and the ability to drive cost-effective and compliant procurement operations within a fast-paced aviation environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement Leadership:
- Develop and execute procurement strategy aligned with company goals
- Lead sourcing initiatives across Direct and Indirect categories
- Ensure alignment of procurement processes with aviation regulatory and safety standards
Direct Procurement (Aviation Focus):
- Source and manage vendors for aircraft parts, MRO, fuel, consumables, and OEM contracts
- Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Flight Ops teams for timely procurement
- Optimize AOG (Aircraft on Ground) part availability and repair turnaround
Indirect Procurement:
- Oversee sourcing of IT hardware/software, facility management, HR services, travel, and general admin
- Build vendor partnerships for cost-effective and quality-driven services
Vendor & Contract Management:
- Lead contract negotiations, SLAs, and long-term agreements
- Maintain strategic vendor relationships and conduct performance reviews
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and DGCA/aviation safety norms
Financial & Compliance Oversight:
- Drive cost savings, budgeting, and spend visibility
- Implement e-procurement systems and digital tools for transparency
- Ensure audit readiness, compliance with internal controls, and risk mitigation
Team Management:
- Build and mentor a high-performing procurement team
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with internal stakeholders
Key Requirements:
- Bachelors degree (Engineering/Commerce); MBA in Supply Chain or Operations preferred
- 1015 years of procurement experience with at least 5 years in aviation
- Proven leadership in handling Direct & Indirect Procurement portfolios
- Deep understanding of aviation procurement processes and vendor ecosystem
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and contract management skills
- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and e-tendering tools
