1) Role Purpose
Lead the Groups accounts and compliance functions, ensuring robust statutory reporting, audit readiness, and effective controls across a multilocation logistics enterprise. While the role carries the CFO title, the focus is primarily on accounts, audits, compliance, debt servicing and financial discipline, rather than fundraising (which is managed by a separate team). The CFO partners with the Board to ensure transparent reporting, disciplined governance, and compliance excellence, supporting the Groups growth with reliable financial foundations.
2) Organisation Context & Interfaces
Internal: Board/Directors, CEO/COO/Business Heads, Commercial/Operations/Supply Chain, Projects/Engineering, HR, IT/ERP.
External: Statutory/Internal/Secretarial Auditors, Banks (for debt servicing), Big 4 audit firms, Rating Agencies, Legal/Tax Advisors, Regulators (MCA/ROC, RBI, SEBI for listed instruments, GST/IncomeTax, Customs), Insurance Brokers/Insurers.
3) Key Responsibilities:
A. Accounting & Audit:
- Lead endtoend accounting, GL integrity, and statutory reporting.
- Ensure timely closure of books under Indian GAAP and Ind AS.
- Coordinate statutory, tax and transfer pricing audits; ensure clean closure with Big 4 auditors.
- Standardise chart of accounts, accounting policies, SOPs.
B. Compliance & Taxation:
- Oversee compliance with direct/indirect taxation Corporate Tax, TDS, GST, Customs.
- Ensure accurate, ontime filing of returns and regulatory submissions.
- Support secretarial compliance under Companies Act, FEMA, RBI as applicable.
C. Debt Servicing & Loan Management:
- Manage ongoing servicing of loans (principal/interest) and covenant compliance.
- Review and understand loan agreements, charges, and security documentation.
- Liaise with banks for renewals and documentation fundraising handled by separate team.
D. Risk & Controls:
- Implement strong internal financial controls and fraudrisk checks.
- Drive compliance audits, IFC, SOP discipline and timely NC closures.
- Ensure adequate insurance coverage for assets and liabilities.
E. ERP/SAP & Process Excellence:
- Leverage SAP ecosystem for GL/AP/AR accuracy, reconciliations and MIS.
- Champion automation of reconciliations and reporting.
- Improve MIS timeliness and accuracy across sites.
F. Leadership & Governance:
- Lead a multilocation finance/accounts team of 50+.
- Build a culture of compliance, accountability, and accuracy.
- Serve as finance representative to Board/Audit Committee with focus on accounts and statutory compliance.
4) Decision Rights / Authority
- Approve accounting policies, SOPs, reconciliations, and reporting formats.
- Authorise payments and loan servicing within DOA.
- Approve hiring and appraisal decisions within finance/accounts.
- Recommend improvements in compliance and audit processes.
5) Qualifications & Experience:
Education (Mandatory): Chartered Accountant (CA).
Preferred: MBA (Finance) from reputed institute; ISA/CFA advantageous.
Experience:
- 20+ years in Finance/Accounts/Compliance, with 10 years in senior roles (GM/VP Finance, Deputy CFO, etc.). - Not necessarily CFO at present highperforming No.2 or No.3 candidates strongly considered. - Age band: 45 to 52 years.
- Strong background in statutory audits with Big 4 firm involvement (mandatory).
- Preferably with experience in a listed company environment.
- Exposure to debt servicing and loan agreement compliance.
- Proficiency in SAP ecosystem essential.
