Pre-Sales Consultant

Key Responsibilities
Client Discovery & Risk Assessment
- Lead in-depth discovery conversations with qualified prospects, primarily inbound.
- Uncover business challenges, timelines, and goals while identifying hidden constraints and risks.
- Evaluate technical and delivery risks across proposed solutions and flag pitfalls early.
- Provide a clear problem frame to internal teams to ensure solutioning success.
Solution Structuring & Proposal Development
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and strategy teams to develop high-level solution approaches.
- Translate business problems into solution blueprints, feature roadmaps, and implementation plans aligned with client goals.
- Take end-to-end responsibility for drafting winning proposals, ensuring clarity, coherence, and alignment with companies value proposition.
- Own the quality of all pre-sales artifacts like discovery summaries, solution briefs, estimation decks, effort sizing, and final proposals.
Bid Cycle Management & Pre-Sales Operations
- Manage the complete bid cycle: RFI, RFQ, and RFP responses with precision and ownership.
- Ensure timely proposal submission while coordinating across internal teams and managing dependencies.
- Oversee pre-sales operations, ensuring proposal readiness and addressing gaps proactively.
- Push for internal accountability and adherence to bid timelines, ensuring seamless execution.
Effort Estimation & Solution Viability
- Collaborate with technical teams to generate effort estimates aligned with scope and complexity.
- Validate effort sizing assumptions and ensure the feasibility of proposed solutions.
- Balance accuracy with speed by leveraging best practices for agile estimation and solution sizing.
Client Communication & Consulting Mindset
- Own all client-facing communication during the pre-sales phase across calls, emails, proposal reviews, and walkthroughs.
- Demonstrate a consultative mindset by guiding clients toward the right solution rather than simply pitching capabilities.
- Represent companies values, expertise, and commitment to outcomes in every interaction.
Qualifications
- 3-7 years in a pre-sales, bid management, or solution consulting role within a tech consulting or digital product environment.
- Proven expertise in proposal development, RFI, RFQ, and RFP responses handling, and bid lifecycle management.
- Strong track record of translating business problems into solution narratives and feature roadmaps.
- Hands-on experience conducting risk assessments and effort estimations for complex digital solutions.
- Ability to own and drive the success of proposals by aligning business needs with technical possibilities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas.
- Strong understanding of digital product lifecycle, agile methodologies, and modern tech stacks.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (Tech, Design, Strategy) to co-create proposals.
- Exposure to solutioning in industries like FinTech, HealthTech, EdTech, or Retail.
- Understanding of pricing models and effort estimation techniques for agile projects.
- High ownership mindset in taking initiative, driving results, and pushing for clarity in ambiguity
