Lead Buyer CPG (Steel, Cement, Bitumen, etc.)

Department: CPG - Bulk Material Procurement (Steel, Cement, Bitumen, Pipe, Fittings, Valves, HSD, Ammonium Nitrate, Chemicals, etc.)

Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to manage bulk material procurement for power plants, E&P projects, roads, and defense infrastructure. The role involves strategic sourcing, vendor management, cost optimization, and ensuring procurement compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and issue tenders, evaluate bids, conduct price benchmarking (LPP & LPPE), and finalize procurement strategies.

- Identify, onboard, and manage vendors, ensure submission of contracts, performance guarantees, and conduct site visits for issue resolution.

- Manage SAP-based procurement, track PRs, process POs, and ensure on-time material delivery.

- Conduct reverse auctions, analyze commodity pricing, and drive cost-effective sourcing.

Required Skills & Experience:

- B.E./B.Tech. (Mechanical or Civil) with 10-12 years of experience in bulk material procurement for infrastructure projects.

- Expertise in commodity buying, technical specifications (Steel, Pipe, Valves, etc.), SAP-MM, and price benchmarking.

- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
