Job Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic, experienced, and result-oriented Plant Head to lead the overall operations of our Ferro Alloys manufacturing unit located in Pune. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of ferro alloy production processes, excellent leadership capabilities, and a track record of driving efficiency, safety, and compliance in an industrial plant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of plant operations including production, maintenance, quality, safety, logistics, and administration.
- Ensure achievement of production targets while optimizing cost, quality, and energy efficiency.
- Oversee ferro alloy smelting operations, raw material handling, furnace performance, and metallurgical controls.
- Monitor KPIs, analyze operational data, and implement strategies for continuous improvement in output, yield, and downtime reduction.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including pollution control, factory laws, safety regulations, and labour laws.
- Work closely with QA/QC, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to ensure consistent product quality and innovation-driven growth.
- Lead and mentor a team of department heads (Production, Maintenance, QA, HR, Admin, Stores, Safety, etc.).
- Drive plant safety culture through strong EHS practices, audits, trainings, and incident investigations.
- Manage plant budgets, cost control measures, and capital expenditure planning.
- Act as the primary point of contact with senior management and external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities and customers (when required).
- Foster a culture of accountability, discipline, collaboration, and continuous improvement across departments.
Key Requirements:
- B.Tech / M.Tech in Metallurgy, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
- 15+ years of experience in heavy industry/manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a plant leadership role-preferably in ferro alloys, metals, or steel sector.
- Strong technical knowledge of furnace operations, raw material chemistry, and alloy production.
- Proven expertise in plant operations, people management, cost control, and statutory compliance.
- Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and team-building skills.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on results and safety.
- Fluency in English, Hindi, and preferably Marathi.
Preferred Attributes:
- Prior experience in greenfield/brownfield project execution or plant commissioning.
- Exposure to lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, or TQM practices.
- High energy leadership with a hands-on approach and strong operational control.
