
Job Title: People Generalist.
Reports to: The People Generalist will report to the Country Head of Shared Services in Bangalore, India with a matrix reporting line to the Group Head of People in Singapore.
Job Overview/About the job role:
As People Generalist, you will play a crucial role in supporting our entity of about 100 employees.
You will be responsible for all People-related functions, including payroll management, general People operations, vendor management, People compliance, business partnering, with close collaboration with the People COE teams in Singapore.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Payroll Management:
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with local regulations.
- Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile payroll-related accounts.
General People Operations:
- Manage the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and employee data management.
- Administer HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with local labor laws.
- Coordinate employee benefits and leave management.
- Handle employee inquiries and provide guidance on HR-related matters.
Vendor Management:
- Oversee relationships with external HR vendors, such as payroll service providers, benefits providers,
and training partners.
- Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality of services.
People Compliance & Risk Management:
- Identify and assess HR-related risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Provide guidance to managers on employee relations issues and disciplinary actions.
Business Partnering:
- Collaborate with department managers to understand their HR needs and provide effective HR solutions.
- Support managers in talent acquisition, performance management, and employee development initiatives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers on HR-related matters.
Head Office Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Group People teams to align People policies, procedures, and initiatives.
- Provide regular updates on People metrics, developments, trends and challenges.
- Participate in Regional People projects and initiatives as required.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Tertiary Education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in HR roles, preferably in a generalist capacity.
- Prior experience working as HR manager in a shared service entity of MNCs or within the Financial Services industry will be a plus.
- Strong knowledge of India local labor laws and regulations.
- Proven experience with payroll processing and HRIS systems; prior experience in Workday HRIS system is an added advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, work proactively and independently in a matrix reporting structure.
