Job Purpose:
- The Deputy Business Head of Credit Cards will play a crucial role in supporting the Business Head in driving the growth, profitability, and overall success of the credit cards portfolio.
- This role involves developing and executing strategic initiatives, managing key aspects of the business, leading teams, and ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives of the organization.
- The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a strong understanding of the credit card industry, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of achieving business targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy and Planning:
- Assist the Business Head in developing and implementing the overall strategy for the credit cards business, including market analysis, competitive landscape assessment, and identification of growth opportunities.
- Contribute to the development of annual business plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities to identify potential risks and opportunities.
Product Management and Development:
- Collaborate with the product team to develop and enhance credit card products to meet customer needs and market demands.
- Participate in the product lifecycle management, from ideation to launch and ongoing management.
- Analyze product performance and recommend improvements to optimize profitability and customer satisfaction.
Sales and Marketing:
- Support the development and execution of sales and marketing strategies to acquire new customers and increase card usage.
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop effective campaigns and promotions.
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to achieve targets.
- Oversee the performance of various acquisition channels (e.g., branches, digital, direct sales).
Risk Management and Portfolio Management:
- Collaborate with the risk management team to ensure the credit card portfolio is managed within acceptable risk parameters.
- Monitor portfolio performance, including delinquency rates, charge-offs, and other key risk indicators.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of credit policies and procedures.
Operations and Customer Service:
- Work with operations and customer service teams to ensure efficient and effective processes for card issuance, transaction processing, and customer support.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and enhance customer experience.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage a team of professionals within the credit cards business unit.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities to team members.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Set clear performance expectations and conduct performance reviews.
Financial Performance and Reporting:
- Monitor and analyze the financial performance of the credit cards business, including revenue, expenses, and profitability.
- Prepare regular reports for senior management on key performance indicators and business performance.
- Identify areas for revenue enhancement and cost optimization.
Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including other business units, risk management, operations, and technology.
- Represent the credit cards business in internal and external forums as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in the credit card industry, with a significant portion in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and growing a credit card portfolio.
- Strong understanding of credit card products, lifecycle management, and industry best practices.
- Excellent knowledge of sales and marketing strategies for credit cards.
- Solid understanding of credit risk management principles and practices.
- Experience in managing budgets and financial performance.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the Indian market.
