Orchid Shipping - Manager - Operations

Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement the overall shipping strategy, aligning with company objectives and compliance requirements.

- Organize and prioritize shipping activities to meet deadlines and customer expectations.

- Evaluate and recommend optimal shipping methods, routing, and carriers to balance cost, speed, and reliability.

- Identify and implement solutions for process optimization in shipping and logistics.

- Identify and manage relationships with shipping vendors and logistics providers.

- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for shipping operations.

- Control shipment execution parameters to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with internal stakeholders (warehouse staff, sales team) and external stakeholders (CFS workers, vendors, logistics professionals, suppliers).

- Provide guidance on customs policies and documentary requirements for international shipments.

- Proactively identify and resolve shipping issues, implementing effective solutions in a timely manner.

- Communicate directly with clients to provide shipping updates, answer questions, and address any concerns or complaints professionally and efficiently.

- Negotiate rates and contracts with shipping carriers and logistics providers.

- Manage shipping documentation and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience in shipping and logistics coordination or a related field.

- Strong understanding of shipping processes, regulations, and best practices.

- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.

- Proficiency in using shipping software and tools.

- Knowledge of customs regulations and documentation requirements.

- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
