About the Job:


We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Bid Manager to lead our bid and proposal efforts in Delhi. This pivotal role will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the bid process, from initial opportunity assessment to final submission. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of bid management best practices, excellent communication and coordination skills, and a proven track record of crafting winning bids within a dynamic and competitive environment. You will lead a team of bid and proposal specialists and work closely with sales, presales, and executive teams to secure new business opportunities and drive organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities:


Leading Bids and Proposal Team:


- Provide strong leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the bid and proposal team.

- Assign responsibilities, set clear objectives, and monitor team performance.

- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

- Identify training and development needs within the team.


Crafting Winning Bids:


- Develop compelling and persuasive bid responses that clearly articulate our value proposition and address client requirements effectively.

- Ensure all bid documentation is accurate, compliant, and professionally presented.

- Incorporate win themes, differentiators, and unique selling points into bid narratives.

- Manage and contribute to the development of high-quality written content, including executive summaries, technical proposals, and commercial offers.


Managing Bid Process:


- Take full ownership of the bid lifecycle, from opportunity qualification through to submission and post-submission follow-up.

- Establish and maintain a robust bid management process, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.

- Develop and manage bid plans, schedules, and resource allocation.

- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with each bid.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date bid documentation and records.


Coordinating Cross-Functional Teams:


- Serve as the central point of contact for all bid-related activities.

- Effectively collaborate and coordinate with various internal stakeholders, including sales, presales,

technical teams, legal, finance, and executive leadership.

- Facilitate bid kick-off meetings, progress reviews, and finalization sessions.

- Ensure timely input and contributions from all stakeholders.


Bid Document Comprehension:


- Thoroughly analyze and understand complex Request for Proposals (RFPs), Request for Information (RFIs), Expressions of Interest (EOIs), and Tenders.

- Identify key requirements, evaluation criteria, timelines, and contractual terms.

- Distill critical information and communicate it effectively to the relevant stakeholders.


Bid Strategy Development:


- Collaborate with the sales, presales, and executive teams to develop winning bid strategies tailored to specific opportunities.

- Analyze client needs, competitive landscape, and our strengths and weaknesses to formulate effective approaches.

- Contribute to the development of pricing strategies that are competitive and profitable.


Pre-bid Activities:


- Prepare comprehensive pre-bid queries to seek clarifications and ensure a clear understanding of client requirements.

- Coordinate with sales and presales teams for input on pre-bid questions.

- Attend and actively participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits, representing the company professionally.

- Disseminate information and insights gained from pre-bid interactions to the internal team.


Costing and Pricing:


- Collaborate closely with the sales and presales teams to gather necessary costing information and develop accurate cost calculation sheets.

- Analyze competitor bids (where available) and review historical bid data (old submitted tenders, win-loss analysis) to inform pricing decisions.

- Prepare and present cost proposals for internal review and approval.


Final Quoting and BOQ Management:


- Coordinate with the Sales Head/Director/CEO to finalize the quoting and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) prices.

- Ensure all pricing elements are accurate and aligned with the overall bid strategy.

- Prepare the final commercial proposal for submission.


Skill-set Required:


- Proven experience (4-10 years) in managing and leading complex bids and proposals, preferably within the [Insert Relevant Industry Here, e.g., IT Services, Engineering, Manufacturing] sector.

- Strong understanding of bid management processes, methodologies, and best practices.

- In-depth knowledge of tenders, RFPs, RFIs, and EOIs, including their structure and evaluation criteria.

- Excellent understanding of pricing strategies, cost estimation, and commercial terms.

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely.


- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex documents and data.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.

- MBA degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is highly preferred.
