Sales Lead (Airforce Projects).

Job Objective:

The Sales Manager for Airforce Projects Sales will be responsible for driving business growth and building relationships within the defense and aerospace sectors specifically for Airforce Projects.

This includes identifying market opportunities, managing the sales funnel, and leading sales initiatives targeting government departments, defense contractors, and military clients.

The goal is to develop and execute strategies that enhance market share, ensure sustainable revenue, and contribute to customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibility Areas:

Execution:

- Formulate and implement a sales strategy tailored to the Airforce Projects and defence sector to increase market penetration and business volume (Soldier Systems).

- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to derive insights for refining sales strategies and product offerings.

- Own and manage the sales funnel for the Airforce Projects vertical, focusing on defence agencies, military contractors, and related government entities.

- Develop and execute annual sales forecasts and budget plans, ensuring alignment with business growth targets and profitability.

- Increase brand visibility within defence markets through client meetings, defence exhibitions, tradeshows, and industry seminars.

- Establish and maintain strong relationships with Airforce Projects clients, government agencies, defence contractors, and military end-users.

- Analyze client requirements in the defence sector, identify gaps, and propose customized solutions by comparing our products to their needs.

- Work closely with the technical team to ensure that proposed specifications meet the requirements of Airforce Projects clients.

- Stay up to date with new technologies, products, and defence sector trends, and collaborate with the technical team for potential product enhancements.

- Identify upcoming defence tenders, lead the bid preparation process, and manage the strategy for tender participation.

- Communicate with stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration throughout the bid preparation and submission process.

- Attend pre-bid and bid opening meetings to clarify requirements and document outcomes for internal teams.

- Track and report on regional sales KPIs, using insights to take corrective actions and drive improved performance.

- Strengthen relationships with channel partners to generate new leads and convert them into sales opportunities.

- Oversee post-order activities, including tracking production, delivery schedules, and shipment timelines.

- Serve as a liaison between clients and the technical team to resolve customer issues and ensure satisfaction.

Job Specifications:

Qualification:

Min. qualification required:

- Bachelors in Mechanical/Electronics & Communication/Any and/or Master's degree in Marketing /Sales (MBA will be preferred).

Other desired qualifications:

- Prior experience of working with defence, government departments and agencies.

Relevant Experience:

- Min. no. of years of relevant experience required: 15 to 18 years of overall experience, with 10 to 12 years in similar role.
