Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Purchase Manager with 10-15 years of expertise in vendor development, procurement, and strategic sourcing.
The ideal candidate should have strong exposure to imports, data analysis, budgeting, and mechanical parts development.
This role requires excellent negotiation skills, vendor performance monitoring, and risk assessment capabilities, along with proficiency in MIS, MS Excel, PowerPoint, 2D & 3D drawings, and BI tools.
The Purchase Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing effective procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor Development and Management: Identify, evaluate, and develop new vendors while managing and nurturing relationships with existing suppliers to ensure reliable and cost-effective sourcing.
- Strategic Sourcing and Procurement: Lead strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with business objectives.
- Import Management: Handle import-related purchasing, including documentation, logistics, and compliance with international trade regulations and global compliance.
- Vendor Assessment and Performance Management: Conduct regular vendor assessments, performance evaluations, and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards, delivery schedules, and contractual obligations.
- Perform vendor reconciliation.
- Contract Negotiation and Management: Negotiate vendor contracts, terms, and pricing, ensuring favorable agreements while mitigating potential risks.
- Manage contract lifecycles and ensure compliance.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze purchasing data, identify trends, and generate actionable insights to support decision-making and improve procurement processes.
- Budgeting and Cost Control: Prepare and manage procurement budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-control measures to achieve financial targets.
- Mechanical Part Development: Oversee the development and procurement of mechanical components, ensuring they meet technical specifications and quality standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, finance, production, and quality assurance, to ensure alignment of procurement activities with overall business goals.
- Market Research and Analysis: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, cost drivers, supply chain dynamics, and sourcing strategies to identify new opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Presentation and Communication: Create and deliver clear and impactful presentations using PowerPoint to communicate procurement strategies, vendor performance, and other relevant information to stakeholders.
- Technical Proficiency: Interpret and work with 2D & 3D technical drawings (e.g., CAD drawings) to facilitate the development and procurement of mechanical parts.
- Business Intelligence (BI) Tools: Utilize BI tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), track vendor performance metrics, and generate reports to drive continuous improvement.
- Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong business acumen, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Proactively identify and resolve procurement-related issues.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- MBA in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- 10-15 years of progressive experience in procurement, purchasing, and vendor management.
- Proven expertise in vendor development and management, strategic sourcing, and procurement.
- Extensive knowledge of import documentation, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
- Experience in budgeting, cost control, and financial management.
- Proven ability in contract management, negotiation, and risk assessment.
- Experience in mechanical part development and procurement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and BI tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Familiarity with 2D & 3D CAD drawings and related software.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong business acumen, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach.
- Knowledge of ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management principles
