Role Overview


As DGM Vendor Management Inventory, you will be responsible for shaping VMI strategy and driving group-wide vendor relationships.

This leadership role demands strong negotiation skills, policy-making expertise, and the ability to deliver measurable cost efficiencies while ensuring compliance and quality.

Location: Gurgaon

Reporting To: Vice President Procurement & Supply Chain

Work Days: 6 Days


Key Responsibilities


- Lead strategic vendor negotiations for high-value medical supplies, setting benchmarks for cost and service.


- Drive the design, rollout, and governance of VMI policies across all Medanta units.

- Oversee vendor partnerships at a group level, focusing on performance, delivery reliability, and compliance.

- Develop and monitor a markup and pricing policy for vendor-managed items to align with financial strategy.

- Ensure organization-wide realization of trade offer discounts, rebates, and vendor benefits.

- Define and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure standardization across hospitals.

- Lead cost-optimization programs by driving brand recommendations and monitoring compliance.

- Anticipate audit risks, implement mitigation measures, and ensure adherence to statutory requirements.

- Mentor, guide, and upskill the supply chain team in advanced VMI practices and vendor governance.

- Provide strategic insights to leadership on procurement trends, savings opportunities, and supply chain innovations.


Qualifications

- Postgraduate in Supply Chain, Operations, Healthcare Management, or equivalent.

-13- 15 years of progressive experience in healthcare supply chain, with expertise in vendor negotiations and procurement strategy.

- Proven success in designing and implementing group-level inventory models.
