
Maintenance Manager
Job Summary:
Mcvities is looking for a Maintenance Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all mechanical, electrical, and utility systems within the biscuit manufacturing unit.
This role demands hands-on technical expertise, proactive problem-solving, and strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards. Responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities within the factory to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and compliance with food industry standards.
This role involves managing a team of technicians, planning preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshooting equipment issues, and coordinating with production and quality teams to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance:
- Develop plans and execute preventive maintenance schedules for all production equipment (e.g., mixers, ovens, conveyors, packaging machines).
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and ensure minimal downtime.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment history.
Equipment & Utility Management:
- Oversee the maintenance of utilities such as STP,WTP, compressors, HVAC systems, and water treatment plants.
- Ensure optimal performance of electrical systems, motors, PLCs, and control panels.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with food safety standards (FSSAI, HACCP, ISO 22000) Environmental laws.
- Implement and monitor safety protocols for equipment handling and maintenance.
- Support audits and inspections by regulatory bodies.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and energy efficiency.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to enhance equipment reliability and product quality.
- Lead or support engineering projects such as equipment upgrades or layout changes.
- Monitor equipment performance and lead root cause analysis for recurring issues. Recommend upgrades or replacements as needed.
- Manage infrastructure upkeep and upgrade
Inventory & Vendor Management:
- Maintain inventory of critical spare parts and consumables.
- Coordinate with vendors for procurement, servicing, and technical support.
Budget Preparation:
- Prepare and manage maintenance budgets, including spare parts inventory, OEM services, contractual etc
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
- 7+ years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in a food processing or FMCG environment.
- Strong knowledge of food-grade machinery and hygiene practices.
- Experience with PLCs, automation systems, etc is a plus.
Skills Required:
- Technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and other food safety standards.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Good communication and team collaboration skills.
