
Job Description
We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Manager- Sourcing & Supplier Development to join our team. In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing the end-to-end procurement process, and building strong, long-term relationships with our suppliers. This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent negotiation skills and a proven ability to drive continuous improvement in the supply chain. A master's degree in business administration (MBA) is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for key categories, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers globally, focusing on quality, cost, and reliability.
- Lead the entire Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Quotation (RFQ) process.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure the most favorable deals.
Supplier Management & Development:
- Manage and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers to ensure performance and compliance.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews, utilizing key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive accountability.
- Collaborate with suppliers to implement continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on cost reduction, lead time optimization, and quality enhancement.
- Establish and manage a robust supplier development program to improve the capabilities of strategic partners.
Operational Excellence:
- Monitor market trends and commodity prices to anticipate supply chain risks and opportunities.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., engineering, quality, operations) to ensure sourcing needs are met.
- Oversee the entire procurement cycle, from purchase requisition to final delivery and payment.
- Resolve any issues related to supplier performance, quality, or delivery in a timely manner.
Team Leadership & Mentorship:
- Lead and mentor a team of sourcing specialists and buyers.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous learning within the team.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is required. A Master of Business Administration (MBA) is strongly preferred.
Experience:
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
- Proven experience in managing and developing supplier relationships.
- Demonstrable track record of successful negotiations and cost savings.
Skills:
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and inspire a team.
