Job Purpose:


- To lead and manage external government affairs, ensuring timely coordination with public and corporate entities.


- The role involves building and nurturing strong relationships with various Government bodies, regulatory authorities, and local administrations to support business operations, ensure compliance, and safeguard organizational interests.


Key Responsibilities:


1.Government Liaison:


- Engage with officials across departments such as Industries, Revenue, Energy, Pollution Control Board, Labour, Water Resources, Development Authorities, Nagar Nigam, Panchayat, Collectorate, BIS, etc.

- Address and resolve matters relevant to the company in a timely and effective manner.

Regulatory Compliance:


- Assist senior management in identifying and preparing for existing and upcoming regulatory

requirements.

- Ensure all statutory and regulatory obligations are met across departments.

Relationship Management:


- Foster long-term professional relationships with key Government, Semi-Government, and local self-government bodies.

- Act as a key liaison between plant operations teams and government agencies.

Approvals & Clearances:


- Facilitate approvals, permits, and NOCs required for ongoing and new business activities.

- Track the progress of applications and ensure timely closures.

Policy Advocacy:


- Monitor policy updates, government schemes, and legislative changes.

- Provide timely insights and advice to management on relevant policy developments.

Crisis Management & Local Networking:


- Maintain strong local networks and community relationships to ensure prompt response during emergency situations.

- Represent the company at local forums and events to reinforce goodwill.

Monitoring & Reporting:


- Track and report government and local authority activities that may impact business positively or negatively.

- Maintain updated records and MIS of all compliance activities and external interactions.

Communication & Documentation:


- Draft letters, proposals, and communication for government matters.

- Ensure high-quality documentation and correspondence as per official standards.

Miscellaneous:


- Undertake additional responsibilities and special assignments as delegated by senior management.


Qualifications:


Educational Background:


- Masters or Bachelor's Degree is mandatory.

- Preferred: LLB or MBA (with specialization in Public Policy, Legal, or Government Affairs)

Skills & Competencies:


- Strong knowledge of Indian legal, regulatory, and policy frameworks

- Excellent verbal and written communication in English and regional language(s)

- Proficiency in MS Office and documentation tools

- High integrity, detail orientation, and organizational skills

- Proven track record of managing government relationships in a corporate setting
